ABOUT
Based in Chicago.
Working at scale.
Julia Voss is a contemporary artist based outside Chicago, working in large-scale abstraction.
The paintings are built slowly, layer by layer, material responding to material. Surfaces that read as simple from across a room reveal themselves up close. That tension is intentional. So is the scale.
Metallic elements are used selectively, not decoratively. They shift with the light in a space, which means the work looks different at noon than it does at evening. It stays alive.

THE WORK
Made for two audiences.
Collectors who want something that holds its own. Designers who need something that holds a room. Both get the same level of attention.
Each piece is created with the intention of existing both independently and as part of a designed interior — a balance between presence and integration.
COLLABORATIONS
The studio is set up for it.
Commissions and project collaborations are available for residential, commercial, and hospitality spaces. The studio works directly with interior designers, art consultants, and project teams.
